Realization of Spatial Multidimensional Data Modeling and OLAP Operations

Multidimensional data model(MDM),which defines the measures, aggregation operators and dimensions' hierarchical structure derived from fact tables and dimension tables in data warehouse, is the foundation of OLAP and data mining. Traditional MDM and OLAP techniques fall short of the ability to model spatial data. The paper tries to solve this by introducing spatial dimension, indexes of spatial aggregations index which point to the record set of spatial aggregation, as well as spatial constrains sets, into the traditional MDM, to construct spatial MDM and spatial data cube. Also, some experiments on spatial OLAP have been shown in the paper.
