The Design of a Linear Serial Modular Multiplier

The algorithm of Montgomery is presented for simplifying the calculation of large operands modular exponentiation.In this paper we discuss the algorithm and point out its inconvenience for modular exponentiation.Based on our understanding,we go on to optimize the algorithm by translating modular exponentiation into multiply and modular reduction.After its inconvenience has been reduced,the algorithm works better for modular exponentiation.And based on that,we design and optimize a systolic linear serial array for modular multiplication.
