A problem central to blind source separation and most high resolution array signal processing is to determining the number of signals. However, the traditional methods are sensitive to different noise fields and highly complex. To overcome the drawbacks,an effective detection method of the number of sources is proposed using the canonical correlation coefficients of the joint covariance matrix.Compared with the traditional methods, the proposed algorithm has a better performance and lower complexity. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
