Improved synthesis of simvastatin

Objective:To improve synthetic route of simvastatin. Methods: Simvastatin was synthesized from lovastatin via several steps involving acetylization,methylation,hydrolytic decomposition and cyclization reactions.Results: The total yield of simvastatin was 76%.Conclusion: The improved synthetic route optimized the synthetic process and is worthy to have a further pilot manufacture.
