Design and implementation of XML-based database middleware

The features and the development of the database middleware are discussed. Considering the present problems existing in the common database middleware, an approach of design and implementation of XML-based database middleware is proposed. The system named XMLDBMW (XML-Based database middleware), consists of an administration process and a database middleware server process. The former is to provide a visual interface for administrator to configure and control system. The latter is the core of XMLDBMW. It can make full use of system resource, improve the network performance and increase the throughput, flexibility, transplantability etc. And a new idea of development and research will be put forward.
