Analysis and Improvement of Invariance of Zernike Moments

As a region-based shape descriptor,Zernike moments have good rotation invariance,and can capture the shape information of the object image efficiently. The paper introduces the definition of Zernike monments,and deeply analyses their invariance. Besides good rotation invariance,the improved Zernike moments also have better translation and scale invariance. The experimental results show that the improved Zernike moments have better invariance and can be used in image recognition better.
