Research on HTTP streaming

HTTP streaming fits for the best of effort characteristic of Internet,and is developing as a mainstream for multimedia content delivery in Internet.This paper firstly gives a study on different types of multimedia content delivery from two different dimensions,i.e.transport rate modes and content storage format.The paper analyzes the different schemes of content storage format and its selection criteria,then studies two different models of adaptive streaming and their characteristics.To catch the state of art(SoA) of HTTP streaming,this paper finally summarizes the standardization status of HTTP streaming.
