Design and performance analysis of generalized likelihood ratio receiver for multiple signals

Sun Yu-hao · Chinese Journal of Radio Science · 2006

A kind of generalized likelihood ratio(GLR)receiver is proposed for multiple signals detection. Based on a very loose assumption that Gaussian noise is of independent and zero mean, the receiver is designed for three types of signals characterized by their independent property and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), that is, for the best case (i.e. high SNR and equal amplitude signals), for the worst case (low SNR with independent signals), and for the moderate case (moderate SNR with independent signals), respectively. For the three cases, the receiver bears the same structure except some parameters and modules. A generalized analysis method for evaluating the performance of this kind receiver is also given. The simulation results coincide with the theoretic performance very well.
