A Method of Restoring A Weather Degradation Image Based on Atmospheric Scattering Model and Its Application

In this paper, a simple method of restoring a weather degradation image is introduced. Comparing with the traditional method, using this method,the effect of weather in an image can be eliminated, without any additional weather or depth information. In this case, an image in bad weather and simple information provided by the user are needed only. The depth conditions information of the scene point can be got by using the depth developmental method .Then the weather degradation image can be restored based on the atmospheric scattering model. For solving the brightness degrading problem of the restored image, the histogram brightness adjusting method is used to enhance the image. The simulation result in MATLAB shows that the effect of this method in restoring a weather degradation image is very good.
