An Improved Enhancement Algorithm for Medical Images Based on Fuzzy Logic

In this paper, a novel improved algorithm is proposed by analyzing the deficiencies of Pal algorithm. The new algorithm simplified the complex transformation calculation, and a new enhancement operator is adopted, in which the threshold value of membership could be adjusted dynamically based on different types of images and the iteration times was also been reduced.At last, the experiments indicated that the algorithm has a better visual effect especially in some medical images that have less gray levels and low contrast.
