Research and application on WebGIS based on Ajax

This paper introduces basic principles of Ajax and disadvantages of traditional WebGIS. Under the current network environment, server overload leads to great decline of WebGIS service performance. To solve the issue, a new framework combining Ajax and WebGIS is proposed. In this framework, business logic function can be transferred effectively, the framework has been proved to reduce the server overload effectively and improve the usage of the client processor, and it also possesses the excellent properties of Ajax. WebGIS based on Ajax technology might become the mainstream of the development of WebGIS in the future.
