Research on the forest biomass information system based on WebGIS

The forest biomass information system based on WebGIS taked the attribute information such as the news,policies and regulations,research of forest biomass,non-spatial information and spatial information of forest resources of the experimental farm of Hunan Forestry Academy and its surrounding area with measurement about 600000m2 as the data resource.The data resource insist of the relief map of the the experimental farm of Hunan Forestry Academy and the surrounding area,Landsate-ETM remote sensing data of this area in 1999 and the vector data,grid data and attribute data of the forest biomass information treated by digital instrument and softwares such as ArcGIS.It operates in Windows 2003Server,takes MSSQL Server2000 as the database,chooses J2EE+Javascript+JSP as design languages,uses ArcIMS as network map server and ARCSDE as the engine of the spatial database,adoptes B/S pattern structure to design the system frame.it selected AJAX+J2EE as method to achieve Webgis.It sets up the information database of news,policies and regulations,scientific research and spatial data base of forest distribution.There are various function modules such as user management,data browse,searches and inquiring,thematic maping,consult map for attribute,consult attribute for map,printout and information management.It can achieve to issue the attribute info and spatial info of the forest biomass information,integrate the spatial info with the attribute info seamlessly and share the forest biomass information actually.
