Information hiding algorithm based on pixel-value exchange and spatiotemporal chaos mapping

Tian Ye · Computer Engineering and Applications Journal · 2007

A novel information hiding scheme is presented. The pixel-value exchanging operation is used to embed the secret message at the adjacent pixels of the texture regions of the cover image depending on their complexity. The complexity identification is based on the hard c-means cluster. The bits from the secret data are embedded into the texture regions in random order determined by the scrambling technology based on spatiotemporal chaos mapping. The initial parameters of the spatiotemporal chaos mapping can act as the private keys, which can provide larger key space. The imperceptibility of the method is very high. The secret data is extracted from the embedded image without the original dada from the cover image.
