A Study of Adaptive Speech Coding Technology in 3G

To avoid the waste of system capacity by using mono speech codec and rising utility of frequency, GSM Phase 2+ give a solution as Adoptive Multi-Rate (AMR) speech codec which be adopted as speech codec standard in 3GPP. The theme introduce the principle of AMR and explain the cruxes as channel coding and channel matching, finally proposal AMR reference application in future 3G systems.
