Research on customization and optimization on image of Windows XP embedded systems

Windows XP embedded(XPE) is a fast and reliable embedded software platform,and it is suitable to non-handheld applications and those which are not sensitive to energy.To apply XPE in such applications,this paper presents the procedures of the customized system image with Windows Embedded Studio.Then the booting process and the services,as well as the automatic login and the auto-switching process of multi-users are optimized.Afterwards,a web browser-based user Shell is introduced.Through this process,the system can be applied in embedded applications based on the Browser/Server(B/S) model.
