Objective To study the value of the model of three-dimensional visible liver in ultrasonographic classification of liver segment. Methods The sectional images of liver selected from the Chinese visible human data set were used to establish the model of 3D visible liver by the volume rendering and the surface rendering reconstruction with 3D visible software. The virtual model of hepatic Couniaud segments was estabished and used to study the hepatic segments classification of the standard ultrasonographic sections. Results The model of 3D visible liver could clearly display the structure of hepatic vessels and their special relationship, and the virtual model of hepatic Couniaud segments was established, which was useful for accurately classifying the hepatic segments. Conclusion The model of 3D visible liver can provide accurate two-dimensional and 3D monphological data for ultrasonography in hepatic segments classification. It is helpful for accurate ultrasonographic localization for hepatic diseases.
