A Geometric Constructive Approach for Traditional Mosaic Rendering

A color photograph rendering method is proposed in this paper,which produces traditional mosaic effects. The directional guideline of an image is automatically detected,without the user's manual designation. Distance transformation is used to find laying path and direction,and equ-distance strips of the mosaic tiles. Post-processing with the refined mosaic tile cutting can enhance the aesthetic effects.
