In our previous paper [1] , a new CSMA/CD protocol with priority named PW-CSMA/CD, which is an extended version of Acknowledging Ethernet, was proposed and the performance of the protocol was theoretically analyzed for the nonpersistent case. The obtained results showed that, in comparison with the original CSMA/CD, we cannot expect the sufficient improvement of the performance (e.g.the average number of times of retransmission) of the highest prioritized packets in the nonpersi stent PW-CSMA/ CD. In this paper, we consider anothner PW-CSMA/CD protocol, i.e.,the 1-persistent PW-CSMA/CD. As for the nonpersistent case, the average throughput and the average number of times of retransmission are theoretically analyzed and compared with those of the original CSMA/CD.The results show that the 1-persistent CSMA/CD protocol equipped with favourable characteristics as the access protocol in local area networks with integrated services.
