HCPM for the Study of Causal Construction

The HCPM analytical process of the operating mechanism of constructions starts from intentionality and ends at intentionality.That is,the whole process is intentionality-oriented.In a specific expression,the intentionality,in the form of specific communicative intention,guides the whole process of utterance formation and construal.The formation mechanism of causal construction can be formulated as: The logical causal construction is derived from the logical causal relations existing in the logical structures of the world,while the evidential causal construction is derived from the logical causal construction.The construal mechanism of causal construction can be formulated as: In the holistic framework,the listener seeks for optimal relevance of a causal construction according to proximity/similarity,and then deduces the logical causal relation in real world through holistic elucidating/complementing,to acquire a relatively complete expression,on the basis of which the communicative intention of the speaker can be inferred with the help of context.
