On-Line Monitoring and Diagnosing for Press Section of a Paper Machine

In this paper, based on an actual monitoring and diagnosing working station specially designed and set up at the press section of a paper machine (PSPM), the study is carried out firstly to deal with the basic theories and dynamic characteristic parameters (i.e. the fault-characteristic frequencies) of the on-line monitoring and diagnosing system at PSPM (also valid for whole PM), then to investigate the design and condguration of the basic functions as Well as their expressing modes of the software and hardware for the station. Furthermore, the general evaluation method of the dynamic characteristic parameters for PSPM is discussed. In addition, the more suitable diagnosing method for PSPM, combining the Fault-Symptom with Cause-Result, is put forward and the design and application route of the method are also introduced. Finally basic conditions and ways to realize the intelligent self-diagnosing-fault system for PSPM are referred.
