Demand for maize will increase dramatically in China during the next two decades.Maize breeding activities should focus on yield potencial and enchancing the value.But the shortage of the germplasm resources is the nectbottle of restricting the development of breeding maize in China.To promote the sustainable system of maize production,germplasm enhancement,improvement and development applied biotechnology should be the most important innovation approach for modern seed industry in China.
