In order to solve such problem as the low communication energy efficiency of wireless sensor network under unreliable communication links,a self-adaptive power optimized geographic opportunistic routing protocol for wireless sensor network was proposed. In combination with the power control and geographic opportunistic routing,a relative forwarding energy efficiency model was established through analyzing single-hop throughput and data transmission energy consumption. An optimized mechanism with self-adaptation between forwarding set and transmission power was proposed to achieve the optimum transmission energy consumption of wireless sensor network and ensure the throughput at the same time. The simulation results show that with variable node density, the self-adaptive power optimized opportunistic routing has higher energy and transmission efficiency than both power fixed opportunistic routing and traditional geographic routing.
