Selection of H.264 Codec and Design of High Definition Digital Video Compression and Storage System

This paper introduces two latest H.264 codec chips MB86H50 and Hi3510 and a familiar chip PNX1500,and compares their performances and frames. Furthermore,a high definition digital video compression and storage system is designed using MB86H50 as the core and PNX1500 DSP as the host. This method is valuable in the research of HD video monitor and storage.
