A NOVEL METHOD OF THRESHOLD DETERMINATION OF WAVELETS COEFFICIENTS FOR ISO-CONTOUR GENERALIZATION

The ideas of wavelets for iso-contour generalization are presented.In the setting of map generalization,a novel method of threshold determination of wavelets coefficients for iso-contour generalization is given.The wavelets coefficients are thresholded with the extended square root of the original and target map scales ratio.Further,a three-level classification of wavelets coefficients with respect to the importance of iso-contours is made.
