Analysis and Optimization of G.723.1 Speech Codec Algorithm

The encoding and decoding algorithm of G.723.1 dual-rate speech codec are analyzed.Based on the ARM11 processor,several methods are used to optimize the fixed-point standard C code of G.723.1.These methods make the real-time encoding and decoding become possible.The test results show that the efficiency of the optimized code is increased by 74%—90% compared with that of the original one,and the optimization methods used are feasible.
