Region of interest image coding algorithm

A ROI(Region Of Interest) image coding algorithm is proposed.By using different wavelets and bit rate to transform and code the original ROI and BG(BackGround) separately,combined with the SPIHT(Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees),the compression quality between ROI and BG can be controlled flexibly.Since the BNC17/11 wavelet and CDF9/7 wavelet are employed to perform the wavelet transform,the capability of ROI image compression algorithm is improved.Further,the proposed algorithm needs not to calculate the ROI mask.
