Research on the Ontology of MAGrid

Ontology provides the essential theory and method for describing research field. For adapting to the requirements of network-centric warfare development, a new concept of military application grid (MAGrid) is put forward; it is researched and designed from the view of ontology. Based on the introduction of related ontology knowledge, corresponding layering ontology framework is provided and two main ontology-MAGrid Service Ontology and MAGrid Application Ontology, are described. By the research, the new thought and method are provided to develop military application systems. It is valuable to improve the global efficiency of the systems in theory and practice.
