Review of Multidrug Functions of Statins in Cardiovascular System

Statins are the basic drugs in the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases, but the existing evidences from ASCOT, PRINCE, CARE and REVERSAL indicates that statins, beside the lipid-lowering effect, also possess multiple drugs effects, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerosis, protecting vascular endothelial and so on, these functions has been attached more and more attention in treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
