A Method for Rebuilding Topological Structure of Mesh in STL File Based on Hashing

Rebuilding topological structure of mesh in STL file is the premise to check the validity of STL file and to fix its topology. It is also the basis of redesign based on reverse engineering.Since the existing methods are too complex and time consuming,we present a half edge model for rebuilding topological structure and a possible scheme which is based on hashing is described. The topological structure can be rebuilt efficiently using this method.
