Packet Scheduling Algorithm for Mixed VoIP/FTP Traffic in Wireless Network

The paper analyses the system throughput under the influence of the VoIP traffic,and concludes that there is not an absolute contradiction between real-time and unreal-time traffic under some traffic load.To guarantee a certain degree of throughput while the VoIP traffic has reached its own QoS requirements,priority of FTP traffic should be increased.The paper also proposes an improved packet scheduling algorithm called Voluntary Dropping-from-front Scheduling for wireless link derived from the idea of active queue management in Internet.Simulation results show that it has good performance not only in QoS but also in system throuput.
