A Color Image Encryption Scheme Based on 3D Chaotic Cat Maps
Huang Gui-ping · Journal of Wuyi University · 2005
Traditional chaotic maps are commonly used to encrypt gray scale images. In this paper, a new method based on 3D cat maps to encrypt the color image is proposed. The coefficient matrix of 3D cat map is generated by higher-dimensional chaotic system-Lorenz map. It is stochastic and dependent on its initial condition sensitively. Then a matrix that is generated by one-dimensional infinite collapse maps to adjust the coefficient is used. It increases the intensity of security. The analyses indicate that the encryption algorithm can effectively resist not only cipher-text-only attacks, but also plaintext attacks and chosen-plaintext attacks. The simulation results show that the algorithm can be used in the communication of multimedia.
