Key management is the core mechanism to guarantee the security of the wireless sensor networks and play a key role in the authentication and encryption. In order to improve the network security performance,a novel scheme-NDDK(dynamic key management for wireless sensor networks based on neighbor discovery) is proposed. In this scheme, the neighbor lists are utilized to construct the topological structure in the initial process, then the key polynomials are assigned to ensure the least hamming distance between the combinations of common polynomial keys in the neighbor nodes. In the node addition and periodical key refreshing processes, cluster head distributes the optimal key combination to the sensor nodes according to the changes of the topological structure.Comparing with the SHELL,the costs is decreased effectively and the security performance is improved.
