Power-saving scheme for mobile Ad hoc networks based on pre-estimation of average noise power

In this paper a power-saving scheme for mobile Ad hoc networks based on IEEE 802.11 DCF is proposed.Under the proposed scheme,the source node will regulate the transmit power of the data packets dynamically by the use of a method of pre-estimation of average noise power and the feedback of RTS/CTS handoffs during the reception.The protocol analysis and the simulation of NS2 show that the power-saving scheme is efficient to decrease the average transmit power of packets without reducing the networks throughput badly.
