Gossiping-Based Directed Diffusion for Wireless Sensor Network

Aixin Zhang · Information Security and Communications Privacy · 2010

This paper, based on study of directed diffusion, and in consideration of energy consumption of each node and overhead of the whole network, proposes the combination of gossiping with the interest propagation of directed diffusion. In diffusion directed, interest propagation is done by broadcast while by using Gossiping, message would be sent to each neighbor node with probability p(p1), and so long as such probability p is greater than or close to the critical probability pc, all of the nodes in the network could be easily made to receive the information, meanwhile the goal to reduce the cost of directed diffusion is thus obtained.
