Phase Transition Phenomena in the Internet and a New Phase Transition-Based Traffic Model

The paper expatiates on network behavior of Internet and the characteristics of the traffic phase transition phenomena from macroscopic viewpoint.The effects on network system behavior and control algorithm arising from the existence of phase transition are also discussed.Finally,an improved network traffic model based on these phase transition phenomena,which can reproduce the basic statistic physical property of aggregated network traffic,is presented.Simulation results validate our improved network traffic model.
