Digital Image Compression Technology and Its Applications

Moving picture characterizes its massive information, its dynamic sense and its realty and intuitive, but in the applications, moving picture has its shortages of massive data and the high demand of process time, so it becomes a hotspot for researching the efficient and agile moving picture compression algorithms in the decades years. This paper introduces the basic principle of digital compression alogrothms for moving pictures , the key technologies of MPEG - 4 are discussed in detail. At last, some typical applications of digital image compression technologies in military equipments are presented.
