Snapshot is a major technology for online hot backup,it can effectively reduce the down-time needed to perform conventional copy operations in the storage subsystem.Based on analyzing all kinds of snapshot system and the requirements of a DR system,using the snapshot technique,the architecture of a disk-based disaster-tolerant backup system is presented.It has three main components:snapshot driver,local server and remote server.And we implement it on the AIX platform.
