Analysis and Design of a Self-bias Current CMOS Reference

IC Design · 2006

A novel CMOS reference structure is presented, which has as the bias current of OP AMP the PTAT current with high precision generated by the bandgap voltage reference, thus having the PTAT current generator omitted, reducing the chip area and making the reference current closer to the ideal PTAT current. This circuit can generate a voltage reference with as great a temperature drift as 18.8PPM/℃ and a PTAT current independent of power supply.
