Research and Simulation of Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband Speech Coding Algorithm

The Adaptive Multi-rate Wideband(AMR-WB) speech coding algorithm for the third generation mobile communication system and digital wideband network system was introduced in this paper.The major blocks and characteristic of AMR-WB coding algorithm were described.On basis of analyzing and studying the principle of AMR-WB,we simulated this algorithm.The subjective hearing and objective PESQ of synthesized speech quality is tested.The result presented the PESQ-MOS of seven modes(except 6.6 kb/s and 8.85 kb/s) all exceed 4.0,and the synthesized speech have good naturalness and hearing comfort.The test result proved that AMR-WB is a high quality speech coding technology.
