Effect of noise-jammer on suppressing sonar analysis detection

The accumulation of detective probabilities appears in successive detections by active or passive sonar.Taking into account the correlativity of successive detections and noise jamming, the shortcut curve function was defined for sonar to search an underwater target. The method of computing the shortcut curve function was proposed and the effective search width was set up.The sonar searching ability depression under the effect of noise-jammer was evaluated by comparing the variations of the effective search widths before and after interference at different positions. The theoretical results were consistent with practical observations, which shows that this method is a new and effective way to evaluate sonar performance in quantity.
