Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence was utilized in comprehensive assessment of reliability enhancement testing(RET).The basic concept of D-S theory and the rule of evidence combination were introduced. Moreover, the approach to the assessment of the RET utilizing D-S theory of evidence was presented.Firstly a recognition frame for all possible effects of RET programs on the product’s reliability was established.Secondly every test program was regarded as a piece of evidence and the corresponding evidence body was set up.Finally all evidence was combined according to the D-S rule of combination. It was proved that this approach can increase the accuracy of comprehensive assessment of RET.
