Prevention of the Risks of Static Electricity in the Gas-phase Polyethylene Fluidized Bed Reactor
Xiangjun Cai · Zhejiang Chemical Industry · 2010
One of the major technical problems in the gas-phase polyethylene fluidized processes was the electrostatic charge build-up inside the bed, which greatly affected the smooth running of the plant. In order to prevent the risks of static electricity, the article gave a pre-control concept from the aspect of process operation, it meant to keep the electric potential at a low level by controlling the electrostatic charge accumulation inside the fluidized bed and reducing the possibility of cocatalyst to react with impurities. It was the first time to identify the entrance, generation and dissipation of electrostatic charge in the view of temporary balance.
