By symbolizing the thematic statistic data as well as visualizing the data on thematic map,the expression of the map could be enhanced and the map could become more persuasive. However, the symbolization of thematic data is mainly done by hand right now which consume lots of time and work, while few automatically symbolize software show poor visual effect. To solve these problems, this paper constructs an system to produce symbols automatically based on JFreeChart. The experiments approved this solution and its application in automatic thematic cartography.
