Emendation Algorithm of Distorted Characters in Character Recognition

An algorithm based on pattern matching method is proposed for recognition of distorted characters.The algorithm can automatically emendate the aberration caused in projection of cylinder and significantly enhance the reliability of the character recognition system.After the character location in the emended image,the algorithm makes judgments according to the results of the template matching.The experiment results show that the emendation algorithm can improve the accuracy of character recognition.And the system has achieved good performance in the test.
