A Property of Polynomial Functions over Fields and Its Applications

Every k morphism between algebraic varieties defined over a field k maps a k rational point to a k rational point. Its converse is not true. In this paper, the author studies some conditions under which the converse is true and use the main theorem to study an unsolved problem on permutation polynomials in several indeterminates: let a polynomial f over the field F q be a permutation polynomial of a finite extension of F q , whether f is a permutation polynomial of F q ?
