Nodes mobility model for opportunistic networks using state transition and triggering events

Jiliang Wang · Computer Engineering and Applications Journal · 2013

Opportunistic networks are mobile Ad-hoc networks, and nodes mobility modeling is one of the key problems. A nodes mobility model using state transition and triggered events mechanism is proposed. Three states, which include major community state, path state and other community state, are designed, and the corresponding transmission mode is proposed. Then an exponential distribution function of residence time based on triggered event is deduced. The experimental results using the proposed model approximate the real data set, and this model has also slightly higher accuracy than the existed HCMM.
