Research on the Data Reduction Techniques and Their Application in IDS

Nowadays,data mining technique has been widely used in the intrusion detection system(IDS) to improve its detecting efficiency.This paper studies the data reduction techniques in order to increase the data mining efficiency in IDS.The data reduction techniques are discussed in the aspects such as feature reduction,instance reduction and feature's value reduction,and the application of the data reduction techniques in IDS is tested by experiments.Finally,the results of the experiments are analyzed.
