A Study of English Anaphora Based on Cognitive Linguistics

The paper proposes a neurocognitive linguistic anaphora resolution mechanism based on the concept of Accessibility, aiming at providing an explanation of howpeople choose the intended referent from among the possible ones. It tries to explain the intrasentential anaphora in terms of some related theories in Cognitive Linguistics, and to illustrate the value and application of Cognitive Linguistics in actual intrasentential anaphora analysis.
