Energy-recovery Driving Circuit for AC Plasma Display

A new energy recovery driving circuit with two-level voltage wave-shaping characteristics for AC PDP is proposed. The new sustain driver can reduce the number of switching devices by 25 % and improve the overall system efficiency about 15 % compared with the prior circuit. The usability and practicability of the proposed circuit are verified through experiments.
