Density Control Algorithm Based on Directional Sensing Model for Sensor Networks
Dan Tao · Communications technology · 2008
Density control is a common way for prolonging the lifetime of large scale sensor network. Most of the existing density control algorithms are based on omni-directional sensing model. However, sensor networks based on directional sensing model are of great application significance. In this paper, a density control algorithm based on directional sensing model is proposed, which can effectively turn off the redundant directional sensor nodes, thus to reduce total network energy consumption and prolong the lifetime of sensor networks while to ensure a certain ability of network coverage.
